西药副作用造成的后果

一般来说，大多数西药都有一定程度的副作用， 有的人会对某些西药产生过敏反应。 因而， 医生， 药房药剂师和药品制造商一般会对病人指出某种药品的一些副作用和可能引起的过敏反应。 下面是一种降血压的西药的副作用的英文说明。

我有一次深夜因为血压超过160/100， 太太按照医嘱和美国同事的标准， 立即将我送进急诊室（Emergence room, 不是Urgent care). 急诊室的医生给我服用可乐定。 我服用这种药以后， 除了没有出现发烧，气喘，呼吸障碍，皮疹和皮肤过敏外， 其他的副作用几乎全部体现出来， 只是程度有时有轻有重。非常实事求是地说， 我的感觉是， 服用这种药物的副作用对我造成的痛苦和伤害远比高血压对我造成的痛苦和伤害要明显的多。 我本人的体验是， 我的高血压是临时性的， 是因为情绪波动而引发的，只要用对药和调节好心情， 就会恢复到正常的水平， 因而， 对身体的损害可以忽略不计。可是， 服用这种西药对我身体产生的不良副作用， 却在很大程度上造成了对我身体实质性的伤害， 而且这种伤害是精神和生理上的。
