For new readers and those who request to be “好友 good friends”  please read my 公告first.

Thanks to Prof. Guan-Rong Chen of City University of HK who gave me the  attached table of rank order of 11993 scientific journals of the world.  In my own field, the five journals with which I am familiar are:

Automatica                  rank 1344         IF 3.635  (22200)

IEEETrans

On Automatic Control  rank 2266         IF 2.739  (36508)

Int'l J. on control          rank 4114         IF 1.880   (5452)

SIAMJ. on Control       rank 5420         IF 1.493  (218)

DiscreteEvent

DynamicSystems        rank 6275           IF1.269  (1248)

The Impact Factor is a controversial measure of quality.

The blue figure for each journal is the number of times the journal  publication has been cited in 2015.  Since journals publish with different  frequency (from monthly to semi-annually), the blue citation number is at best a poor indicator of popularity.

The highest IF is 131.723 for the Cancer Journal for Clinicians, the smallest measurable IF is less than 0.0001 tied by 41 journals.

Note added 6/15/2016. I am indebted to Christos Cassandras for bringing my attention to the most recent and authoritative article on various measures of journal quality (attached) which among others showed as to why IF is a poor measure of journal quality.
