I happened to see today an interview of Vinod Khosla, the co-founder of Sun  Microsystems and renowned venture capitalist of Silicon Valley on Bloomberg  television on the title of this blog topic. He gave what  I thought many insightful predictions. The most alarming prediction is  

“50% of the jobs that exist today will disappear in the next 40 yearsdue to  advances in Artificial Intelligence and there won’t be enough new jobs created to replace them.”

The implication of this on education and income inequality in my view is enormous and I worry seriously about the well beings of my grandchildren’s generation.
