Lexington Chinese are known for their participation in community  service and politically active. I have written previously  about this Chinese Amer. Asso. of Lexington (CAAL) Forum and NY party http://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-1565-953748.html. In this interesting election year of 2016, CAAL held its first presidential election forum for the local CA community  on 4/7/2106. The following was reported in in the 4/9/2106 edition of the Chinese newspaper World Journal.  The text of the report is reproduced below (Note the World Journal do not allow free content access on line. 勒星頓華人協會7日晚在該鎮社區中心舉辦美國總統大選座談會，邀請支持不同參選人的會員做引言，和與會者一起討論2016年美國總統大選在政治、經濟、文化方向的巨大衝擊，及對華人社區的影響。 

三位講者何毓琦、劉青、熊化宇，分別說明自己支持某位參選人的原因。 

何毓琦指出，喜萊莉在第三度、長達11小時的班加西（Benghazi）恐襲案國會聽證會，勇於為自己辯護、優異的突圍表現，堅定她對喜萊莉成為國家領袖的信心 (Blogger,s note: see my six month old  blog article Who will be the US President in 2016?http://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-1565-930275.html)。川普在娛樂界、商界雖然有不錯表現，但他對國家大事的懵懂和目光狹隘，是個危險。 

劉青則說民主黨主政的美國社會，不斷出現如SCA5種族入學法案、對大批非法移民束手無策、根據個人性別傾向使用男女廁所等現象。「川普也許沒有從政經驗，用的是普通常識，卻是有可能創建偉大美國的新希望」。 

熊化宇用喜萊莉曾經回應請求、幫助她的家庭解決簽證問題的實例；體會她身為女性躋身政界不易，以及她從政的表現，說明自己支持她成為總統的理由。 

在袁睿翕主持和提問下，三名主講人分別探討華裔美國人的獨特處、如何令政治人物關注華裔需求，以及此次總統大選如何影響個人和家庭等問題。與會者紛紛提出相關思考和各自觀點 

何毓琦提到，華人不被政治人物重視的原因，是沒有政治力量。80/20多年來倡導華人需集中選票，以集體選票（Block vote）方式，在政界發揮能夠左右選舉結果的重要力量。劉青認為經濟力量也是不容忽視的一環。熊化宇表示，猶太裔成功的例子就是華人最好的榜樣與借鏡(see also Comparing Jewish Americans and Asian Americans  http://blog.sciencenet.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=1565&do=blog&id=675789)。 

兩位組織者趙志強、袁睿翕說，舉辦活動的目的是鼓勵在美華人參與政治、發出聲音。支持哪位參選人不重要，重點是參與。辦座談會也希望激起大家的興趣；在公開場合，進行理性化交流討論，是很有意義的活動。
