My home town, Lexington Massachusetts, is the birth place of American Revolution. The town is celebrating her 300th birthday in 2012-2013 – a year long festival with many events. One event is an hour long special history and social science class for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in the public schools. People in the town dressed in costumes of the past and present playing historical figures tell stories of the town to the students assembled. My wife was asked to say something about “what it means to be a community leader and volunteer in Lexington?” Below are some pictures taken at such a class gatheringPeople dressed in costumes marching into the class auditorium
