How much is the designation “精选 (Specially Selected)“ worth on Science Net Blogs?

Over the years, I have noticed that blog articles being designated as 精选 (Specially Selected) often get high readership. Question then arises as to how much increase in readership is such a designation worth. To research this issue, I looked over 65 blog articles I wrote during the past 12 months and averaged the readership of articles both with and without this designation. Here are the results:

1.  For 29 articles with this designation the average readership is 5983

2.  For 36 articles without this designation the average readership is 3152

Since all the articles are from one blog set, authorship should not be an issue. We can thus conclude with some confidence that the designation of 精选 (Specially Selected) by the editorial office is worth 2831 extra hits/views. I welcome other results/opinions on this issue.
