如果你小心翼翼地
穿过森林,
呼吸方式
如同
古老故事中的角色,
他们可以
走过闪着光的树叶床
不发出一丝声响,
你来到这么一个地方
此地的唯一任务
便是用那些
琐碎然而可怖的请求
烦扰你,
不知这些请求在何处构想出来
但在这里
这些请求开始通往四面八方。
请求你停止做
正在做的事,

SOMETIMES

Sometimes
if you move carefully
through the forest,
breathing
like the ones
in the old stories,
who could cross
a shimmering bed of leaves
without a sound,
you come to a place
whose only task
is to trouble you
with tiny
but frightening requests,
conceived out of nowhere
but in this place
beginning to lead everywhere.
Requests to stop what
you are doing right now,
and
to stop what you
are becoming
while you do it,
questions
that can make
or unmake
a life,
questions
that have patiently
waited for you,
questions
that have no right
to go away.
